**THE OPPORTUNITY**

This position sits within the **Whole Person Impairment** team. Whole Person Impairment (WPI) refers to the loss or abnormality of psychological or anatomical structure or function. As the WPI Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for proactively and effectively managing all aspects of caseloads of worker’s compensation claims who have experienced a WPI within the SA legislation and compliance guidelines.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide workers compensation advice to stakeholders such as workers, employers and providers
- Deliver personalised face-to-face assistance to workers and employers;
- Conduct community based visits inclusive of but not limited to work sites or medical clinics on initial triage of a claim and at significant milestones during the life of a claim;
- Ensure case management is in accordance with SA legislation and compliance guidelines
- Pro-actively manage rehabilitation providers and approval of rehabilitation plans in accordance with EML’s guidelines and agreed department and Return to Work SA standards
- Adopt a service-orientated approach that is focused on early intervention and the interests of workers and employers

**ABOUT YOU**
- Knowledge of the relevant worker’s compensation legislation and regulations is not essential but would be beneficial
- Basic understanding of medical terminology would be advantageous
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Sound negotiation and influencing skills
- Empathy and understanding for others
- The ability to effectively listen and understand the needs of the customer and what is important to them to enable their recovery and return to work
