The Product Owner - Innovation

The Product Owner - Innovation role, reports to the Head of Innovation & Strategy, joining an exceptional team of innovators who are passionate about igniting change. Your mission is to lead the rigorous exploration, validation, and incubation of new business ideas, (dis)prove product-market fit, and nurture new business opportunities. Drawing on your innovation toolkit, you will conduct customer and market research, develop prototypes and MVPs, run experiments, and rapidly extract insights to inform decision-making.

While energy industry experience is a plus, it's not required. At the end of the day, you're someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset and the commercial acumen to transform a nascent idea into a scalable bestseller. As an intrepid pioneer, you have a can-do, will-do attitude and have the grit and resilience to tackle complex and ambiguous challenges in search of the next big thing.

About the role:
- Opportunity Identification: Research and identify potential new opportunities aligned with the vision and mission of the team, working closely with the Strategy squad.- Insights Extraction: Design, develop, and deliver innovation experiments to test hypotheses, (in)validate problem-solution fit or product-market fit, and extract high-value insights and learnings.- Growth Validation: Develop and own OKRs to drive value from incubation products and demonstrate a clear path for sustainable future growth.- Collaborative Leadership: Lead the end-to-end product development process through effective collaboration with teams across AGL.- Ecosystem Engagement: Build and manage relationships with external innovation and startup communities to exchange ideas, gather insights, and develop partnerships.- Advocacy & Reporting: Be the advocate for product vision, strategy, status, and milestones and communicate these effectively to key AGL stakeholders and external partners.- Capability Uplift: Support the development and implementation of innovation frameworks and activities for the Electrification & Innovation team and other AGL teams where required.

About you:
- You have strong commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset, with 5+ years of experience as an innovation product owner and/or startup founder.- You are deeply empathetic and can easily understand the perspectives of customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.- Enjoy setting ambitious goals and rolling up your sleeves like an entrepreneur, with the ability to hustle and wear multiple hats.- Adept at toggling between creative and analytical thinking.- Enjoy the challenge of a servant leadership style when working in teams.- Effective in storytelling to motivate and influence stakeholders across a range of channels and formats.- A high level of familiarity with Lean Startup, Design Thinking, and Agile methods.
