**About the Role**

The **Assistant Advisor, Cabinet**supports Cabinet and Committee operations by assisting with the coordination of Cabinet and Committee meetings, agendas, and submissions. You’ll review Cabinet proposals, provide advice on Cabinet practice, and work with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth decision-making. The role also supports senior executives, Ministers, and the Premier with analysis and advice, and contributes to the integrity and efficiency of Cabinet processes. You'll also take care of administrative tasks and help manage the eCabinet IT system.

**About the Cabinet Team.**

We help Cabinet make the best possible decisions to achieve the government’s objectives and benefit the people of NSW - we do this by supporting the Premier and the Chair and/or alternate Chairs of Cabinet Committees and Subcommittees in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the Cabinet system of government.

We ensure matters submitted for consideration are submitted in the right way, at the right time, in line with government priorities and are of the highest quality. We provide advice to the Premier on all proposals coming to Cabinet from agencies to ensure alignment to government priorities.

We work across the entire sector to support the functioning of the Cabinet system by providing strategic advice and leading on Cabinet practice, developing products and systems, and using our skills and experience to create solutions. We deal with the new and the novel with no two days being the same. We are highly responsive to requests from stakeholders, endeavour to always perform at a high standard and have a keen eye for detail.
- Understanding or experience of government operations, including Cabinet conventions and confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, including maintaining working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with agility and resilience.
- Proven ability to analyse and synthesize information and provide clear and considered advice to management and senior executives within tight deadlines.
- Skilled in using technology to deliver good outcomes, including using IT systems for document management.

**Salary**:Clerk Grade 5/6. Package includes base salary ($97,027- $107,059) plus superannuation and leave loading.
