Role impact & contribution

The Senior Cabinet Liaison Officer provides advice and ongoing Cabinet administrative, operational and project and policy support to the Associate Director, Cabinet Unit. This includes ensuring the flow of high quality, strategic and timely advice from subject matter experts to the executive and Treasury ministerial offices to support involvement in Cabinet and Committees. The role also supports Treasury's board appointments and Executive Council processes.

Coordination of timely advice on Cabinet processes requires planning, risk management, stakeholder management and efficient execution. Strong communication, organisational and critical thinking skills are essential for this role.

Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

You will be joining our Cabinet Unit Group and will be working within the Office of the Secretary and Ministerial Services Division. Read more about your future Group and Division.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the structure of Cabinet processes, government functions and activities and machinery of government.
  • Display a high level of organisation, with the ability to plan and manage work processes involving multiple stakeholders, anticipating their needs and identifying and mitigating issues, in a high-pressure, high-volume environment with tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail.
