Consumer Consultant

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- We are seeking a Consumer Consultant to join our Lived Experience team at Mercy Mental Health to support our rapidly growing service.
- The Consumer Consultant will work collaboratively with Mercy Mental Health Leadership staff in developing service responsiveness to the needs of clients.
- Permanent full time position, based at Saltwater Clinic (Footscray)
- Work with senior leaders at Mercy Mental Health to provide advice and consultation from a Lived Experience perspective via various means, including membership on Committees, working groups, staff training and quality improvement projects
- Enhance the professional development of the Lived Experience workforce- This role is for people with a Lived Experience of mental illness and personal recovery, who have received treatment in a public health service.**ABOUT YOU**:

- A qualification in a relevant field or working towards (eg. tertiary qualification in health or welfare, training in Co-Design, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Training & Assessment, Project Management
- Able to work collaborativley with individuals and groups, with a passion for health care service improvement
- Enthusiastic and highly motivated
- A personal lived experience of being a mental health consumer

- Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
