**The Opportunity**:
Our large and newly constructed Sydney Depot is the centre point of our network and thereby critical to the efficiency of our Transport operations network. Reporting to the National Depot Operations Manager and with 7 direct reports, we are seeking a dynamic Transport specialist to oversee this critical depot operation and provide solid leadership to the team of 350.

**_Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:_**
- **Operational management**: Ensure smooth day-to-day depot operations, including fleet allocation and deployment, delivery schedules and warehouse activities.
- **Team Leadership**: Lead, upskill, and grow a team at all levels, fostering a safe, positive and productive work environment.
- **Health and Safety**: Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe workplace for all employees.
- **Evaluate & maximise cost effective options and methods of operation across such areas as**:

- Optimise efficient fleet and depot asset utilisation.
- Labour cost management and labour planning and deployment
- Quality freight handling and dispatch.
- **Customer Service**: Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering efficient and timely services and addressing client queries promptly.
- **Performance Monitoring**: Track KPIs, prepare operational reports, and implement improvement strategies to achieve business objectives.
- **Compliance**: Ensure all operations comply with company policies and legal requirements, including transport and logistics regulations.
- **Change Management**: Champion transformation through visible leadership and accountability.

**About You**:
You will have a strong background in the Transport sector with 10+ or more years in Management. You’ll be an exceptional planner and hold a solid system and process orientation, as well as being a natural leader, strong communicator and active coach and mentor. With a proven track record in problem-solving, you excel at navigating complexity and managing change. Your leadership style sets an example through energy and commitment, fostering a service-focused, performance-driven culture where every team member takes ownership.
