We are currently seeking a motivated and energetic Administrative Officer to join the CSIRO ‘CarbonLock Future Science Platform’ Office, and play a key role in providing administrative and operational support to the FSP Director and the wider program

Permanently removing carbon from our atmosphere, at the speed and magnitude demanded, remains a challenge. Our Permanent Carbon Locking Future Science Platform (CarbonLock FSP) is CSIRO’s collaborative research effort to address this challenge, and work towards driving radical innovation at the nexus of biology, chemistry and engineering. The FSP considers both carbon capture and carbon storage, and our researchers are exploring the systems and architecture needed to integrate carbon storage and carbon streams in new ways, which would enable better use of Australia’s natural assets.

As the Administrative Officer, you will have a varied and autonomous role, supporting the FSP Director and the CarbonLock FSP Office with a range of program operations and activities, and ensuring the smooth coordination of them. Given that this position acts as a key point of contact, you will take the initiative to learn and maintain a keen interest in the FSP’s objectives, project details and activities, and efficiently manage any relevant correspondences and enquiries from various internal & external stakeholders, as well as monitor critical project timelines. An important part of your role would be to communicate effectively, and proactively build & maintain strong partnerships with a range of stakeholders to efficiently facilitate FSP activities. Supporting the FSP Director, this role would also involve administrative tasks requiring strong attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, and willingness to improve operations.

**Your duties will include**:

- Providing practical support to the Permanent Carbon Locking FSP to manage correspondence, tasks, issues, and interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring prioritised issues for the FSP’s attention are effectively managed, including monitoring and following up on issues.
- Managing or contributing to administrative projects or issues as necessary (e.g., research projects, visiting scientists, publication records, as well as reviews and reports).
- Compiling and overseeing the distribution of the FSP’s newsletter.
- Coordinating quarterly meetings of the FSP’s work packages and research portfolio, internal and external meetings or other events, including booking rooms, resources, travel, transport, equipment, and catering.
- Establishing and maintaining electronic document management systems in accordance with the FSP’s needs and CSIRO’s record management standards.
- Ensuring FSP research projects meet their reporting goals, collating documents and entering required data into the FSP’s data management system.

**Salary**: AU$66K - AU$84K pa + up to 15.4% superannuation
