**About the role**:
The primary focus of this role is to lead the development of an investment strategy for health infrastructure and oversee the preparation of a suite of business cases aligned to the investment strategy. This is a pivotal role to support important investment and funding decisions that will shape the health system.

This role translates the health infrastructure pipeline into a phased investment strategy, underpinned by clear and transparent data and insights. The role is responsible for ensuring health infrastructure business cases are well prosecuted and aligned to broader system objectives.

The Manager, Investment Strategy and Business Cases will collaborate with teams across the Department of Health and key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the development of programs and projects address identified health system priorities and risks.

This role will also be responsible for overseeing the development of system wide asset projects.

**Key Role Accountabilities**
- Lead the preparation of health infrastructure business cases and provide strong coordination, guidance and oversight to the process.
- Provide expertise and oversight to ensure the delivery of projects or business cases meet quality and time objectives. Demonstrate proactive project management to ensure clear communication of task, deadlines and quality expectations
- Work closely with teams across the Department of Health and key sector stakeholders to identify and prioritise infrastructure programs and projects.
- Provide critical analysis and examine proposed solution options with regard to benefits, cost, feasibility and alignment with Government policies and strategies to provide compelling advice to senior stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to governance, policies and frameworks in all investment planning activities.

**Qualifications / Specailist Expertise**

**Qualifications**:

- A qualification in economics, public policy, capital planning, health planning, project management or similar.
- A relevant post graduate qualification would be well regarded.
