**The Opportunity**

In this role you will support the Head of Hospital Funding Models in the design, development and delivery of hospital funding and payment models in support of Medibank’s healthcare value purchasing and benefit outlay management strategies with hospital, medical and ancillary providers.

With an innovative, structured and customer-focused problem-solving approach, you will work with stakeholders to deliver new funding models to be considered best practice not only within Australia but globally.

Delivering this involves:

- Hospital case-mix funding model design, updates, technical specifications, and documentation of new funding models from design to delivery.
- Support and lead industry engagement to improve understanding and influence of government policy on healthcare payment models.
- Support the Head of Hospital Funding Models to develop and deliver on strategies, with responsibility for design, review and quality assurance of all funding models and analysis.
- Develop a robust knowledge of the Australian private healthcare sector, including key issues around funding and trends in the sector; and build up knowledge and capability in healthcare funding models.
- Develop and deliver insights into drivers of healthcare utilisation and cost drivers.
- Proven capacity to communicate and present to both technical and no-technical stakeholders.

This a hybrid permanent full-time role and you can work from home and one of our offices in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

**About you**

You have extensive knowledge of healthcare funding models and market review and demonstrated success in structured problem solving to support decision making and strategy development and can deliver succinct verbal communications to an executive level audience.

What you can bring to the role:

- Experience in developing and implementing healthcare funding models i.e., activity-based funding and value-based funding models.
- Experience in case-mix measurement and understanding drivers of healthcare demand and utilisation.
- Demonstrated achievements and significant experience in advanced quantitative analysis, clinical costing and healthcare benchmarking practices.
- Experience in strategy development either as an internal or external consultant within healthcare would be highly regarded.
