**Responsibilities**:

- Manage and update the council's website to ensure accurate and engaging content that aligns with the brand and objectives.
- Create visually appealing and effective graphic designs for various projects, including digital and print media.
- Collaborate with the digital communications team to support and enhance the overall digital presence and engagement strategies.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the council newsletter, ensuring its content is informative, engaging, and visually appealing.
- Coordinate and oversee the graphic design delivery for external content and campaigns, ensuring consistency and high-quality visual representation.
- Provide support and guidance on graphic design best practices and brand consistency across all communication channels.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their design needs and deliver creative solutions within project timelines.
- Stay updated with the latest design trends and tools to continuously enhance the organization's visual communications.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on digital communications and graphic design.
- Proficiency in website management, including content updates, user experience optimization, and familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
- Excellent graphic design skills, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools.
- Demonstrated ability to create visually appealing designs that effectively communicate messages to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of print media processes, including preparing files for print and working with external printing suppliers.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics, typography, and branding.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in local government or a public sector organization is advantageous.
