**About the Role**

The Risk Officer plays a pivotal role in the firm’s risk management, ensuring that risk is managed in line with the risk management framework and according to the risk appetite statement approved by group board.

They work across all areas of the firm to identify risks, form treatment plans and develop suitable controls. They continually monitor control effectiveness and provide regular management reports to risk and compliance committees.

The Risk Officer works closely with team members to identify process improvements and efficiencies to deliver best practice risk and compliance, whilst fostering a strong risk culture across the firm.

**Responsibilities**
- Identify, record and assess risks, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Work with risk & compliance committees to ensure treatment plans are completed in a timely manner.
- Create and review group policies and procedures and associated guidance materials.
- Conduct regular risk register reviews (at least annually).
- Perform control validation to review control design and operational effectiveness.
- Review and rate incidents, managing them through to a suitable conclusion, implementing corrective actions and procedural changes.
- Attend regular training and meetings to promote and support risk awareness.
- Foster and maintain strong support for an inbuilt compliance culture that blends with, rather than works against, commercial objectives.
- Provide regular Risk & Compliance management reporting to boards and committee.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
