About the role
The Food Service department operate between the hours of 0530 and 2000 each day. The Food Service Team caters for approximately 900 patient meals per day.
The Food Service Department within the Ipswich Hospital is classified as a Public Hospital kitchen, responsible for preparing and serving foods to the high risk patients and clients of the hospital.
The Ipswich Hospital Food Service Department follows an in-house Food Safety Program which details the procedures in place to ensure the safe handling and serving of foods from the incoming raw material and prepared meals to the consumption of meals by the patients and clients of the organisation.
Food Service Staff are to ensure they adhere to the Code of Conduct and ensure the workplace is healthy and safe for all Hospital Staff, Patients and Visitors.
Working together efficiently and effectively in a positive team environment will result in an productive high standard to ensure our Departmental and Organisational goals are met.
About you
- Food Safety Supervisors certificate or equivalent is desirable
- This position is rostered over seven days with early and late shifts so the ability to undertake shiftwork is required.
- There are no mandatory qualifications required for the position.
- Successful completion of a recognised Diet/Nutrition Assistant training course is highly regarded
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
