Located in Queensland & New South Wales, NEPEAN Longwall offers the full suite of after-sales services enabling it to support products throughout its life cycle. **Our Opportunity**

Due to exponential growth and contract awarded, NEPEAN Longwall is currently seeking a **Mechanical Fitters **to join the team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Rutherford, NSW.

This position has overall responsibility for the assembly, disassembly and maintenance of all capital and used underground mining materials handling equipment, gearboxes, roof supports, drive line equipment, winching equipment, hydraulic power packs and hydraulic driven equipment. Commissioning of underground coal clearance systems and all work functions related to this.

**Daily duties will include however are not limited to;**
- Maintenance of onsite fixed and mobile plant, including the completion of the appropriate paperwork for the maintenance schedule reports, for the equipment that has been repaired/inspected.
- Welding and minor fabrication, minor painting, steam cleaning and ancillary duties
- Where tolerance assembly procedures are specified, verbal or otherwise, document proof of such in the Job card
- Work must be carried out in accordance with relevant Australian Standards & in line with internal Quality Systems
- Will be responsible for the housekeeping and cleanliness of your designated workplace and workshop in general to 5S Standard.
- To produce the allocated job within the estimated and designated hours, as repeatedly proven by your peers.
- To help train apprentices by demonstrating correct work procedures
- Assist in fault finding of operating machinery, equipment plant, identify bottlenecks, maintenance needs and improvement opportunities.General Fitting duties.

**The Right Person**
- Current trades certificate or other equivalent qualifications
- Rights to work in Australia
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Longwall knowledge (desirable)

Salary range is $35.50 - 42.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
