**Job Description**:
As The Fleet Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the effective operation, management, and leadership for the PUD related activities. Linking our 3 Victorian facilities which includes regional on forwarding providers. Our Victorian operation works closely with Toll Group Operating Services for the provision of interstate and intrastate line-haul services and this role requires oversight to ensure line-haul services are being optimised. This involves a proactive collaboration with both the PUD and handling function along with the Toll Line-haul team to ensure service level DIFOT targets are met in a safe and economical manner.
Safety and compliance are of highest importance, so the oversight of this role is to ensure staff are appropriately trained and managed to the levels expected. Vehicle maintenance for the PUD is also key responsibility of this function ensuring that all fleet is serviced and maintained to the Toll standards. Other critical safety areas such as driver fatigue management, load restraint, load manifest / scanning and dangerous goods compliance also fall under the responsibility of this role.
You will be a vital member of the operations team reporting to the Branch Manager for Pallet Express. Your responsibilities include maintaining a safe work environment, up to date vehicle servicing, staff training / development, effective management of costs and a key leader to meet the service levels (DIFOT) performance of the state.

- 5+ years demonstrated experience managing large PUD fleet and related activities
- Demonstrated P&L knowledge and KPI metrics management.
- Clear understanding of operational costs and key cost drivers.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to work under pressure and autonomously without direction.
- Ability to maintain ongoing stakeholder relationships ensuring timely and specific lines of communication.
- Ability to prioritise competing issues in a high-pressure environment
- Commitment to stakeholder satisfaction, both internal and external, responsive to stakeholders needs
- Proven ability to build and maintain excellent relations with senior management, various business units, and regulatory bodies both internally and externally
- Strong understanding of transport PUD and line-haul operations.
- Sound knowledge of transport regulations.
- Sound knowledge of transport metrics.
- Knowledge of OH&S Principles and legislation
- Dangerous Goods handling and storage experience
