A fantastic opportunity at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as the Manager, Commercial Contract Development and Contract Management, reporting to the Executive Manager, Commercial Contract Development and Contract Management. You will join the Commercial and Contracts Team and act as a critical pillar to broaden governance, performance, accountability and respond to customer requirements.

A bit about your role

The role will aim to influence, negotiate and persuade internal and external stakeholders such as Operations and RDE within nbn to provide commercial enablement and drive overall outcomes for nbn.

The goal of the Commercial and Contracts team is to act as a conduit to create and cultivate fibre-on-demand opportunities by designing and executing offers and proper contractual arrangements. You will provide a platform for nbn, its Retail Service Providers (RSPs) and end customers to find and win commercial opportunities. The role requires detailed prowess to simultaneously drive better outcomes in the market, enhance competition in the business sector while ensuring compliance with regulations.

The role will allow nbn to successfully achieve the objectives to contribute to nbn’s strategic vision for the various build agreements to secure most of nbn’s business revenue and manage nbn’s contractual risk. The successful Manager, Commercial Contract Development and Contract Management will be a crucial point of inquiry to advise on the product, price development, negotiations, and consultations on implementing fibre-on-demand commercial pricing, strategy, operations, network and systems leaders and experts. The role will provide the meaning and implementation of nbn’s build and broader business strategies and targets.

A bit about you

You will have experience working in contract and commercial management with direct responsibility for relationship management with external parties or tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce / Business, Engineering, Project Management / Construction, Operations or similar. You will be confident in acting with a high degree of autonomy and intuition to engage and assist in the structuring, negotiating and managing of complex commercial contracts. As part of structuring the contracts, you will include commercial analysis, reporting and making recommendations ideally developed from telco, construction or large-scale project environments.

You will have a track record of success in managing various complex projects and programmes or contracts. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential as you will assist with developing, implementing and maintaining governance frameworks that effectively manage third-party delivery providers in line with contractual agreements.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to get messages across to a range of audiences across and outwards from the organisation and, ideally, an in-depth understanding and experience in the telecommunications industry.
