**About the role**

The work that the Research Officer delivers contributes to the achievement of defined objectives, and the testing of stated hypotheses, with the purpose of acquiring and communicating new knowledge of value in the field of cancer immunology and immunotherapy. The role provides an opportunity to participate in a dynamic translational research environment in the Adelaide BioMed city precinct, with a focus on the design and validation of Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell-based therapies in preclinical models.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Science (Honours) or other Bachelor’s degree covering fields relevant to the area of research
- Expert knowledge of immunology and tumour biology
- Proven experience in high-parameter flow cytometry, microscopy, cell culture and processing of human or mouse biological specimens, and animal tumour models
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- A Masters or PhD degree for research in a relevant field
- Experience with molecular biology techniques including viral vectors
