We are a social enterprise committed to sourcing Timorese coffees while upholding social, environmental, and economic sustainability principles. Our focus on transparency, traceability, sustainability and building strong relationships with producers sets us apart in the industry. Our award-winning specialty coffee puts people and the planet before profit. We plant trees for every kilo roasted. We work directly with over 600 subsistence farmers in Timor-Leste and aim to empower them and their communities.

THE ROLE

As the Coffee Roaster and Operations Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional coffee experiences by meticulously roasting high-quality beans sourced from Timor-Leste. You will ensure consistency in roast profiles, maintain equipment, and contribute to developing new blends and flavours.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Coffee Roasting: Execute precise and consistent roasting processes to bring out our coffees' best flavours and qualities.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks through cupping, moisture/density analysis, etc, to maintain the highest standards throughout the roasting process.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels effectively to meet production demands while minimising waste.
- Dispatch Coordination: Coordinate the fulfilment and dispatch of coffee orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery to wholesale and retail customers.
- Roastery Maintenance: Operate, maintain and clean coffee roasting equipment and area, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards and adhering to Roastery Cleaning and Safety procedures and Food Safety Regulations.
- Environmental Sustainability: Contribute to our ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact, particularly in coffee packaging and waste management.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with our Coffee Operations Director to select and procure exceptional coffees. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and techniques to continually improve roasting processes, product quality, and dispatch operations.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in coffee roasting with a strong understanding of roasting principles and techniques.
- Passion: A genuine passion for coffee, sustainability, and improving standards of ethical supply chains.
- Experience: Experience in order fulfilment, dispatch and logistics.
- Detail-oriented: Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards in roasting, order fulfilment and dispatch processes.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands, operational needs, and dispatch schedules.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications in coffee roasting or related fields (e.g., Q Grader, Roaster Masterclass).
