Cultural Liaison Officer

**Here are some of the Key Duties for the CLO role**:
- Work with case managers who work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on Community Based Orders (Orders) to identify and build their cultural connections in the community
- Work with key personnel to source and develop brief intervention to support meaningful client interactions
- Support Community Corrections staff to work in a culturally meaningful way with family members to help support and encourage those on Orders to successfully contribute to their community in a positive way
- Develop connections and relationships with other members of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities in order to work collaboratively with case managers if issues arise during a client's order period
- Work with case managers to link those on Orders into services and programs that will assist them to live a life away from crime
- Work with Program Delivery Officers to deliver programs that will help the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their families
- Share culturally relevant information with Community Corrections staff that may help support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
- Identify and work with support services in the community
- Work with Community Corrections staff to navigate support services to facilitate appropriate referrals within the community
- Set up a network of close supports within the local area to assist those on Orders or coming out of prison that includes working with current networks (such as Justice Groups)
- Build local connections with culturally appropriate people and organisations to facilitate stronger cultural capacity for Community Corrections staff
- Build trust and rapport with other CLOs within the region and across the state to enhance contact and service delivery
- Undertake appropriate information sharing within the CLO network (both in Community Corrections and Custodial Centres) in relation to the management of clients
- Provide service-related reports and documents to the Senior Managers as required
