**About the Role**

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the spatial representation of every unique public transport travel path across Victoria. This includes managing stop location data, route details, geospatial information, and timetables for use by DTP, customers, and the wider transport industry. This is achieved through collaboration with various teams within DTP, bus operators, and industry experts.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- Bus stop information including routes, paths, geospatial and timetable information is an accurate representation of the operational public transport network.
- Management of the data import and export process ensuring a high-quality data is provided for customer information.
- Network service changes are managed, ensuring that all data requirements are considered and met prior to the effective change.
- Engagement with other teams within DTP as well as operators and external agencies to ensure accurate data is provided.

**Key Selection Criteria**

The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bus Data Coordinator to manage and maintain the accuracy of bus stop information, routes, geospatial details, and timetables within DTP databases. In this role, you will ensure that timetable reference data is consistent across various platforms, including the website, journey planner, mobile apps, stop timetables, and signage.

You will also oversee the efficient import and export of data, ensuring high-quality information is available for customers. Your responsibilities will include anticipating and managing network service changes, ensuring all data requirements are addressed before changes are implemented. Collaboration with internal teams, operators, and external agencies will be key to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all data.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Desirable**
- **Qualification in Spatial Sciences or GIS or Data Science with at least three years of experience;
- Experience in the use of spatial mapping software products eg ArcGIS, QGIS;
- Experience in the use of spatial data manipulation software eg FME or SQL
- Understanding of spatial coordinate systems and spatial data collection methodologies
- Knowledge of Victoria’s bus network
