Our client's exquisite, resort-like, 8-acre horse property is primly located near Willow Vale on the Gold Coast, 5 minutes from the M1 and 25 minutes from the Gold Coast waterways. This property is immaculately presented with no expense spared on infrastructure, gardens and facilities.
Your Role
This position will see you play a key role in maintaining a stunning private property in a great location.
As the Property Manager and Track & Grounds Greenskeeper, you will be fundamental in ensuring that the barn and arena are immaculately kept, as well as the horses, gardens and dwellings. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about horses and can look after their general welfare, fitness and safety, including shoeing and any medication. Note, the majority of this role will be maintenance / grounds keeping focused, therefore multiple years of experience around horses is not necessarily essential.
Further to the above, your duties will include but not be limited to:
Ensure weeding of arena and day yards
Prepare horse feed and feed each morning and prepare evening meals
Obstacles and risks to horses' safety are addressed
Liaise with tradespeople and other personnel who attend premises
Keep up the protection of fencing and shelters through oiling
All established gardens are kept in good order and condition, including hedging and weeding
About You
To be considered for the role, it is important that you can address the following:
Knowledge and experience in maintaining small acreage, pasture, gardens, equipment, external buildings, barns and infrastructure to a high standard of presentation and condition
Handyman skills and ability to work small equipment, mowers, chainsaws and pumps
Sound knowledge of horses, including their feeding, medical and exercise needs
Ability to manage schedules, organise and coordinate contractors when necessary, and identify, initiate and complete labouring tasks unsupervised
Driver's license
