The Bureau's observing network assets portfolio is distributed across 12,500 sites covering all states and territories of Australia and other jurisdictions. Observing network assets include, but are not limited to, Radars, Automatic Weather Stations, Tsunami Boys, Rain Gauges and other measuring apparatus. The Asset Management Technical Lead will assist with the establishment and development of the Bureau's new asset management capability to ensure the efficient and effective lifecycle management of the Bureau's observing network asset portfolio.

The Asset Management Technical Lead will be the primary custodian of the new Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) and related processes, data integrity and continuous improvement initiatives. To assist with these responsibilities a team of technical and project experts will report to this position making management and leadership proficiency a key aspect of this role.

The position is responsible for driving uptake and continuous improvement of EAMS to ensure that it represents the single source of truth for all Bureau Asset Management data and continues to be fit for purpose for organisational requirements. This will include the streamlining of business processes, involving relevant stakeholders, the management of enhancement projects, representation on DDG technical forums and the day to day engagement / management of contractors, vendors, internal (DDG) resources and other project stakeholders.
