**About the Role**:
You will provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership of the Policy and Legal Command, and through further review, enhancement of capability, and a reorientation to proactivity and planning, continue the transformational journey of reshaping service delivery. Expert advisory on significant legal matters, the delivery of critical programs, an investment in people and more, will ensure the reputation and interests of QCS are protected in this high profile, public exposure environment.
As General Counsel for QCS and the most senior lawyer in the organisation, you will lead high quality litigation and legal services and advice for the full gamut of legal practice (contractual, commercial, administrative, employee/IR, RTI requests, privacy, court and tribunal proceedings etc), whilst managing the engagement of key stakeholders (Crown Law, across government and beyond) and other private sector legal providers.
Your influence and outcomes will be of significant scale and scope, in an environment that is supportive, with complexity and challenge. You will lead a team (approx. 65) of expert and trusted advisors to work collaboratively with the entire organisation, and ensure effective governance, risk management, assurance, compliance and service delivery are embedded across each functional area, to guide and reinforce enhanced practice.

**Your Expertise**:
As a contemporary Senior Executive, you will lead with clarity of purpose and direction, and promote engagement, the building of relationships/partnerships, and collaboration. You will cultivate a proactive, accountable, customer-centric and highperformance culture, where learning and continuous improvement approaches are valued and supported.

**Demonstrated experience includes**:

- Extensive senior legal experience in the criminal justice sector (or related) with relevant qualifications and admitted to practice as a Legal Practitioner in QLD.
- Proven experience strategically leading the delivery of legal related services and navigating complexity in a dynamic and multi-faceted environment, at scale (frontline service delivery);
- Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks and legislation;
- Extensive experience successfully developing and implementing strategic and operational plans that contribute to organisational positioning and policy direction; and
- Proven experience building a high performing team and effective stakeholder relationships.
