Production Manager

**Position Overview**

The function of the Production Manager / Skilled Tradesperson is to oversee, manage, and partake in the construction of the company’s staging elements which are to be fabricated for hires and sales. This position within Megadeck requires consistency with attention to detail and a high level of communication.

**Core Competences and Responsibilities**
- To oversee all aspects of the Production Department.
- Managing and overseeing all major projects and crews that branch over various departments (Carpentry and Welding) with mínimal disruption to warehouse functions.
- Ensuring all projects are completed on time and finished to an excellent standard.
- To work and communicate closely with internal and external clients.
- Complying and operating to and within the company’s policies, WHS requirements as well as the relevant Construction Codes and AUS/NZ standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of Process Management/Improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma) and proven experience.

**Key Job Activities**
- Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager (OPS)
- Scheduling day to day or weekly tasks with the Carpentry and Fabrication teams.
- Ensuring these tasks are completed correctly, on time on quality and on budget.
- To assist account managers in preparing accurate quotes for all Custom Builds/Major Projects
- Pricing, required resources (quantifying), setting timelines and crew allocation.
- Advising OPS when materials need ordering, tool purchases, repairs, faults and services.
- CAD Drawing, Enroute (CNC) programming and CNC operation.
- Working to supplied drawings and plans and purchase orders.
- Quality checks to be made prior to projects leaving the warehouse.
- To assemble/dismantle and team lead all your allocated projects on site as required
- Resolve materials shortages via creation of purchase orders.
- Carpentry Stock, Material and Machinery servicing control.
- Advising OPS when materials need ordering, tool purchases, repairs, faults and services.
- Keeping the Carpentry and Fabrication departments, organised, free of hazards and tidy.
- Intermediate/advanced training and mentoring of carpentry team members.
- Basic carpentry training of warehouse team members.Correct use of hand tools, maintenance and general carpentry.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Excellent capacity charts management
- Liaise with Internal customers, organize handover meetings from sales to Production.

**Key Skills**
- A sound knowledge of workplace safety and relevant Australian Standards & Codes.
- Ability to be able to delegate responsibility to others with positive results and have followed your directives in a competent manner.
- Add significant value to peers by acting as a coach/mentor.
- An experience knowledge of the building of Megadeck staging systems and a good knowledge of the full range of Megadeck equipment, where and when specific items should be used.
- Good computer skills - Microsoft suite.

- Excellent understanding and use of machinery and tools involved in the construction of stage sets and the like.

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Performance bonus

**Experience**:

- Production management: 3 years (preferred)
- Carpentry: 5 years (preferred)
