The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences has an enviable research record and is the University of Melbourne’s largest faculty in terms of management of financial resources, employment of academic and professional staff, teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate (including research higher degree) students and the conduct of basic and applied research.

**About the Role**
The Statewide Models of Care project comprises two main programs: (1) developing evidence-informed and stakeholder-based models of care and interventions to meet the needs of specific cohorts of young people (such as vulnerable and disenfranchised young people, or young people experiencing bullying/cyberbullying, among others), and (2) developing and implementing a Statewide Quaternary service to provide expert clinical care to youth mental health services across Victoria (with an initial emphasis on regional services). The Research Fellow will be responsible for (a) developing an evaluation framework for the overall Statewide Model Development (SWMD) program and for each of the program/cohort areas, (b) developing an evaluation framework for the Quaternary service, (c) developing an implementation plan/framework for the SWMD program and (d) developing implementation resources to assist services to adopt or revise their models of care and/or interventions. These activities will include consulting with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Victorian-based youth mental health service managers, clinical staff, and young people and their families), collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data, developing resources to assist implementation of evidence into practice, and preparing reports for funders and journal articles. Responsibilities include:

- Develop an evaluation framework for the new (Victorian) Statewide Youth Mental Health Model Development program and sub-projects.
- Develop an evaluation framework for the new (Victorian) Statewide Quaternary service
- Develop any research related protocols and obtain relevant ethical approvals to support program evaluation aims.
- Develop an implementation plan/framework for the program, along with a range of resources or strategies to support services to implement evidence-informed models into practice in their context or community.
- Actively participate at SWMD meetings and contribute to planning work to build capacity.
- Effective and proactive relationship management with stakeholders.

**About You**
You will possess strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with an ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external. You will be an ethical scholar who values diversity and works effectively with individual differences.

You will also have:

- PhD in relevant area or equivalent clinical/professional qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of program evaluation frameworks and/or implementation science in complex settings, ideally related to mental health.
- Demonstrated track record in independent and team-based program evaluation or implementation in (youth) mental health contexts and/or policy evaluation in related areas.
