**Come join the multidisciplinary team as a member of the Queensland Police Service's (QPS) Operational Research Unit. Our team supports the QPS intelligence capability by providing evidence-based advice to reduce crime and make the community safer.

As part of the Operational Research team, you will work closely with and guide a talented and innovative team to complete high-quality professional research projects on various matters including crime trends, policing practice, and preventative programs.

You will use existing research and various quantitative and qualitative methods to guide practice in an intelligence environment. The outcomes and findings from your work will inform policing practices and assist to improve community safety. As part of this role, you'll also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support operational policing and key QPS projects and initiatives.

Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

- Work collaboratively within a team that delivers sophisticated and high quality research and evaluation services relevant to intelligence and policing.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of research and evaluation activities conceptualised by managers.
- Under direction, assist in the implementation of research findings and devise innovative approaches to research and evaluation.
- Undertake insightful qualitative and quantitative data analysis focusing on intelligence and policing generally.
- Provide high quality strategic advice and prepare high level research reports, submissions, briefing material and correspondence. Reports may be required to be written or delivered as verbal briefings.
- Maintain and enhance collaborative working relationships with internal and external networks and stakeholders.
- Present findings to a range of audiences, including the QPS Executive Leadership Team.

Role Requirements

Mandatory
- The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment.

Qualification

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
- Experience with developing research projects using a variety of methodologies, as well as experience with data analysis and visualisation (such as R, SPSS, Jasp, Excel, PowerBI, etc.) is desirable.
