The Office for Veterans is the central point of contact and coordination for veterans' policy issues and Queensland Government commitments relating to veterans.
As Manager, Office for Veterans, you will deliver and oversee projects and activities as well as develop and provide comprehensive policy advice on a broad range of veterans' matters.
Working collaboratively with your team and key stakeholders, you will provide leadership, best practice project delivery and policy advice and whole of government coordination of programs that support Queensland's veterans and their families.
Responsibilities include
- Effectively lead and manage Office for Veterans staff and assist with building the capability and expertise of team members and promoting a high-performance culture.
- Lead a range of projects to deliver government commitments to support veterans and the veterans' community.
- Identify monitor, research, develop and analyse high level policy options, provide and prepare comprehensive, high-level advice on veterans' matters, including at a whole-of-government level.
- Prepare submissions, briefing notes, reports, information papers and other correspondence.
- Provide a central point of contact and coordination for the Queensland Government on veterans' matters including coordinating Queensland Government input into the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
- Liaise and negotiate with other agencies and stakeholders on a range of issues within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, strengthening relationships and partnerships.
- Engage with key agencies and ex-service organisations and establish strong professional relationships to support the development of effective projects, policies, programs and initiatives to support the veterans' community.
- Oversee engagement activities of the Office for Veterans.
