**Rail & Technology Systems - Construction Manager**

Our Projects division have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for the delivery of all activities on site, and you will get the opportunity to manage the direction and control of construction activities in our Rail & Technology Systems sector based in Melbourne, VIC.

**About the role**:

- Direct and control construction activities on Victorian Rail Projects to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
- Undertake construction administration and delegate responsibilities.
- Interface with other engineering functions.
- Ensure sufficient resources (plant and people) are provided on a project so that it can be delivered safely.
- Ensure harmonious employee relations and participate in union negotiations with advice from the Human Resources Advisor as appropriate.
- Liaise directly with client to maintain high level customer service relationships.

**About You**:

- Appropriate trade qualifications and/or tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
- Experience in the Rail industry (is preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing Construction activities on Project sites
- Strong communication skills, including strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
