**Job Description**:
**The Role**
As a result of renewed focus on forward planning by our key clients, Transport Planning and Modelling are areas of growth for our AECOM office in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Modeller to provide support on a range of innovative projects in Australia, and support AECOM’s planning for key Olympics enabling transport pursuits.
Working within a diverse, inclusive industry leading team, you will provide strategic transport modelling to support our Transport Advisory business in realising the delivery of sustainable infrastructure projects. You will also support our transport planning, traffic engineering and highway design teams with a variety of strategic, mesoscopic and microsimulation modelling.
**About You**
We are looking for a highly self-motivated and ambitious professional who is seeking continued professional development and is seeking opportunities to deliver technical excellence in existing and new business delivery.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a transport modeller;
- Experience in delivering technically challenging projects;
- Contribution to supporting business development activities, including the writing of bid submissions and proposals would be highly advantageous;
- Excellent communication, presentation and analysis skills;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
- Interest in influencing the direction and outcomes of major infrastructure projects.
**Qualifications**:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in engineering, transport, mathematics, economics, geography, computer science, statistics, physics or equivalent discipline.
- Experience in one or more strategic modelling platforms (e.g. Cube, VISUM or EMME);
- Experience in one or more operational modelling platforms (e.g. VISSIM, Aimsun, SIDRA;
- Experience in using and developing scripts and macros in these packages;
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, Visual Basic, Java, C++, or similar;
