Lifeline Australia is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for people to join the Lifeline Lived Experience Advisory Group (LLEAG) who want to share their insights to help improve Lifeline Australia’s outcomes. _ **About the LLEAG** The main objective of the LLEAG is to ensure the voices of people with lived experience are included throughout Lifeline Australia’s activities. The LLEAG is the key mechanism for ensuring that Lifeline Australia is grounded in lived experience expertise by providing considered, balanced, timely and strategic advice on issues relating to: - National marketing campaigns - National advocacy - National service design and policy - National service delivery (where appropriate) - National research projects **Who we are looking for** - We’d love to hear from you if you: _ - Meet all Essential Criteria set out below - Have lived experience of suicide (as defined in the LLEAG’s Terms of Reference and outlined below) - Can participate in scheduled meetings and discussions as required. - Agree to maintain confidentiality - Are not engaged in any activity which conflicts with the interests of Lifeline Australia - Are happy to follow the LLEAG’s Terms of Reference **Essential Criteria** - 1. Lived/living experience, defined as having one or more of the following experiences: _ - Personal experience of suicidal thoughts and/or survived a suicide attempt - Personal experience of mental health challenges - Cared for someone with mental health challenges and/or experiencing suicidal crisis - Been bereaved by the suicide of a loved one - Experience of service use - 2. Active involvement in lived experience advocacy work focused on improving mental health and suicide prevention services and support, including the following roles and contexts: _ - Professional advocate - Designated Lived Experience role - Peer work - Community-based work - Specialist focus (eg: research) - Community specific (eg: First Nations, LGBTI, disability) - 3. Demonstrated leadership skills, including: _ - Capacity to work collaboratively with others to achieve positive change - Ability to bring a representative perspective specific to own lived experience while promoting the participation of others representing different identities, experiences and communities - Good working knowledge of the key issues and priorities of significance to people with lived experience - Awareness and capacity to communicate own wellbeing support needs and preferences - 4. Serves diverse communities _ - In determining membership, consideration will be given to ensuring members serve diverse communities including: _ - Lived and living experience - Experience of service and systems use - Gender - Geographical region - Population cohorts - Cultural expertise - Advocacy skills and experience - Professional skills **How to express your interest** To apply, please submit your EOI by clicking "Apply" and answering the mandatory questions.
