**The Role**
The Information and Data Governance Manager is a key role within NCB which is responsible for providing assurance and oversight of the Australian Naval Shipbuilding Capability. The primary objective of this role is to establish and maintain effective information and data governance practices to ensure the accuracy, integrity, security, and availability of critical information assets.

The Information and Data Governance Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures for information and data management.

The key responsibilities for the Information and Data Governance Manager:

- Develop and implement information and data governance strategies and frameworks to support the Australian Naval Shipbuilding Capability.
- Establish and maintain information and data management policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with applicable regulations and best practice.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify information and data management requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of information and data governance practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance information and data management capabilities across the organisation.
- Implement controls and mechanisms to ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements related to information and data management.
- Monitor and respond to emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in information and data governance, and make recommendations for necessary adjustments to practices and processes.
- Work closely with IT teams and other stakeholders to ensure the security, privacy, and integrity of information and data assets.
- Foster a culture of information and data stewardship, promoting awareness and accountability for information and data management responsibilities.
- Overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of NCB quality management system (QMS), in accordance with the international standard, ISO 9001:2015 Oversee a range of information system support activities and specialist services for the management of NCB information systems and tools, including document management-based technologies;
- Oversee the development and implementation of a training and awareness program to NCB staff on ‘best practice’ information management and appropriate use of NCB information management systems and tools;
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the NCB Intranet site and other knowledge resources.

**About our Team**
The Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to-work and transit of vessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We are headquartered in Osborne, SA and have a detachment in Henderson, WA.

NCB is furthering Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction. NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Mine Hunter Vessels, Evolved Cape Class, Pacific Patrol Boats, and Nuclear-powered submarines.

Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of Continuous Naval Shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in Service by Navy. NCB currently has highly skilled and diverse shipbuilding experience which will be shared to grow your hands on construction knowledge.

You will work alongside Navy Personnel, Internal project management offices and Prime Contractors. The opportunity for technical staff to undertaken industry placement is also available.
