**About the role**:
- Lead the management of our stakeholders to inform infrastructure approval pathways and environmental planning considerations, decisions, and outcomes in accordance with industry and Unitywater standards and to our strategic approvals and regulatory provision of services.
- Manage the development and delivery of detailed Board Papers and required documentation to facilitate cogent and evidence-based commercial, economic, and strategic advice.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the Capital works program by developing systems to identify approvals and regulatory risk early in the asset lifecycle to identify constraints, engage early with relevant stakeholders and provide specialised advice, in conjunction with the Strategic Engagement team.
- Develop a long-term portfolio view with key internal stakeholders to facilitate earlier acquisition and construction access of required corridors and site locations to facilitate timely project execution.
- Represent and advocate for Unitywater’s position in meetings with external agencies (eg: Local Councils, Department of Environment and Science, Department of Main Roads, Energex, Queensland Water Directorate), in relation to approvals for projects and changes to legislation and regulations.

- High level interpersonal skills, with a proven ability in consultancy and negotiation with government regulators, and a strong focus on quality customer service.
- Strong leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Experience in developing and maintaining approvals programs for capital works with complex engineering and approvals requirements would be advantageous.
- Ability to establish performance indicators, processes, and systems to capture base performance data, analyse performance data, and use that analysis to take corrective action as necessary.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Environmental Science / Management, Law, or Town Planning.
