Melbourne City Centre, Australia Court Services Victoria Full time

A unique opportunity has arisen to work in the important field of judicial ethics and integrity, in hybrid work environment where development and well-being is a high priority. The newly created role supports the legal area of the Commission and the Director. The Commission seeks to promote public confidence in the courts and VCAT and define the standards expected of judicial officers, both in and out of the court room. The Commission's Board is chaired by the Chief Justice of Victoria.
The hybrid model enables staff to work from home and in our newly fitted out office (close to the court-precinct) - where a calm, collaborative, collegiate workplace has been created. Access to state-of-the-art end-of-trip facilities make it easy to commute by bike or take a break during the day to exercise. A comprehensive well-being program is also available.
The Complaints Support Officer is a support liaison role for the Commission. The Complaints Support Officer works with the Complaints Officer as the first point of contact for enquiries and complaints from individuals or agencies that have been a party to a legal proceeding or have witnessed or are aware of a matter giving rise to a complaint.
The Complaints Support Officer will support the Complaints Officer to provide ongoing administrative management of enquiries and complaints received at the Commission. The incumbent will be expected to assist the small legal team at the Commission, external stakeholders, and complainants.
The Complaints Support Officer will also assist with the communication and educative functions of the Commission, by developing an understanding of Commission functions and the legal sector more broadly, including facilitating referrals to other agencies where appropriate.
