About the Role

The Database Administrator will be a key and active participant of the Emergency Communications Information Services (ECIS) team. The main function of the role is to ensure all Emergency Services Organisations (ESO) and related Government Agency Data (including spatial) set requirements are processed, loaded and maintained in ESTA's Oracle and SQL database environments.

Reporting to the Manager, GIS Mapping and Data, specific accountabilities will include update ESO government data, troubleshooting and incident resolution. The main purpose of the role is to accurately maintain the data in relevant databases and ensure quality change implementation so updates and other tasks do not affect daily operations.

As part of the ITS team you may be required to travel or transfer between your primary work location and other ESTA sites to effectively carry out your duties. Normal working hours are 38 hours per week between 7 am and 7 pm, Monday to Friday. You may be required to work reasonable overtime and participate in an on call roster.

Day to day responsibilities include:
Liaising with internal and external business stakeholders to understand their data processing needs and managing the processing oft their data into ESTA's Computer Aided Dispatch system
Ensuring data accuracy and processing date in accordance with specified procedures and service levels while guaranteeing data supply specifications exist and are consistently maintained.
Participating in the continuous improvement lifecycle and developing tools and processes to assist stakeholders in better delivery of data to and from ESTA
Managing the rectification of incidents as per the IT Incident Management process and fostering and maintaining a positive protective security culture at ESTA by adhering to security policies, standards and procedures.

**About You**

Ideally, you will have significant experience in SQL Server Scripting and Oracle

Additionally, it is anticipated you will bring:
Extensive experience using GIS related software (ESRI software suite, ArcGIS)
Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices and experience with ITSM tool Service Now
Strong documentation and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
A Diploma/Tertiary qualification in IT or related discipline would be desirable.
