**Position Information**:
Middle Dural Public School is a small school of two classes, consisting of 31 students set in the semi-rural area of north-western Sydney, that sits on the land of the Dharug people with 3% of students identifying as Aboriginal. The school is an inclusive learning environment that caters for a diverse range of students with 40% of students having a language background other than English.

Open communication and teamwork are evident among students, teachers and parents within the school with collaborative and informed continuous feedback as strengths.

There are productive partnerships with the Small Schools' Learning Alliance, as well as the Community of Schools, providing valued interactions and connections through sporting, public speaking, the arts and leadership opportunities. These forums also provide valuable staff connections through shared professional learning and collegial collaboration.

The school focuses on consistently embedding data-informed quality teaching practices in literacy and numeracy and using high impact teaching strategies and all staff are committed to valuing and developing the individual needs of each student.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, student wellbeing and explicit teaching are a priority and the school has strong connections with the wider community and there is a very supportive P&C.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

Demonstrated understanding of the teaching, leadership and management roles of a Teaching Principal in a visible, approachable and highly collaborative way to build positive and respectful relationships with all members of the school and community.

Exemplary classroom teaching practice which delivers high quality, researched based, differentiated learning to engage students to improve outcomes in literacy and numeracy.

Ability to promote inclusivity across the school with the capacity to effectively embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learning across the curriculum.

Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills, instructional leadership and the ability to develop the capacity of staff to implement innovative initiatives and extracurricular opportunities for ongoing school improvement.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
