**Minderoo Foundation’s Impact team **is the engine room of our initiative portfolio. We contribute to the long-term vision for Minderoo Foundation, and provide strategic advice to our initiatives on strategy, partnerships, planning, research, evaluation, sustainability, and global reach, among other areas of expertise.
**About the role**
As Principal, Evaluation you will work closely with the Head of Research & Evaluation to provide a diverse range of support for evaluation activities across Minderoo Foundation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance, training, and coaching to initiative teams and partners to design, develop and deliver evaluations for new partnerships and projects.
- Developing and maintaining a fit for purpose policy detailing the standard for evaluation at Minderoo Foundation.
- Strengthening practices by documenting and sharing emerging insights and lessons learned.
- Encouraging and creating an organisational culture where quality evidence and evaluation are valued, and where teams are upskilled to deliver their research and evaluation activities.
- Supporting the Research and Evaluation team in developing and implementing our strategy.
- Contributing to the advancement of philanthropic evaluation through sharing ideas, research, systems, and practices across the sector

- Be comfortable in unchartered territory and designing solutions to complex and novel problems that are fit for purpose.
- Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to evaluations
- Be adept at building and managing stakeholder relationships in complex, and sometimes adversarial, environments.
- Be an inspiring communicator, with excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills to deliver effective messaging across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Have a proven understanding of a variety of qualitative and quantitative evaluation tools, methods, and frameworks to understand impact and generate insights.
- Demonstrate experience evaluating projects, programmes, or policies in the natural environment field
- Have experience across a combination of sectors - academia, government and private.
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification.
