**About the role**

***
Woollahra Libraries have an exciting permanent part-time opportunity for a tech-savvy and customer focused Youth Community Engagement Officer to join the team and make a valuable contribution to the needs of our community. This position is to commence in February 2025.

The Youth Community Engagement Officer will work collaboratively with the library programs and events team and enjoy designing and delivering, creative and high quality library programs. The position is also responsible for delivering customer service to library customers and assisting in the efficient operation of the Libraries.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic team member who demonstrates a can-do attitude. In addition, the successful applicant will have previous experience working in a similar role with the ability to engage youth in creative technology and STEM activities.

With a passion for connecting with the community, you will have:

- **Minimum of a Library Technician Diploma from TAFE or University Information Studies or Information and Knowledge Management (or relevant qualification or experience).****:

- **Demonstrated experience in the development, promotion, delivery and review of community engagement and/ or learning programs for youth aged between 12 - 20 years.****:

- **Demonstrated commitment to learning and continuous self-improvement as well as a positive approach to change, flexibility and adaptability in the work environment.****:

- **An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.****:

- **Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and independently, with proven time management and organisational skills.****:

- **Experience and/or willingness to use various technologies to run youth programs and events (e.g. video editing and Zoom).****:

- **Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise, consult and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.****:

- **Well-developed knowledge and skills in technology with the ability to engage youth in creative technology and STEM activities.****:

- **Current Working with Children Check.****:

- **Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to EEO and WH&S principles.****:

- **Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position as outlined in section Eight (8) of the position description.***
