About us
The Portable Long Service Authority is an independent statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme began on 1 July 2019 to ensure eligible workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries can build up long service benefits based on time in their industry, rather than with a single employer.
About the role
The Claims Officer will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of transactional activities, particularly in regard to payment of claims. The Claims Officer will also provide support to employers in completing the reimbursement claim form, perform day-to-day administration of tasks within the Claims team, and in the future assist Workers in submitting claims and process claims received from the Workers.
The successful applicant will join the newly established Claims Team and be involved in the development and implementation of new processes. You'll be supported in your transition into the new role with professional development opportunities, internal and external training, whilst enjoying work/life balance with up to two days working from home each week, flexible working arrangements, and inclusive cultural and social activities.
About you
Our ideal Claims Officer will;
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to form and develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be able to deliver complex information to a range of audiences with different comprehension levels.
- Be adaptable and flexible in their work, able to meet set timeframes and pivot tasks and reprioritise when needed.
- Have a can do approach to problems, be solutions focused with the ability to think outside the box and support continuous improvement in the claims processes.
