**Position Overview**

Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify, understand and articulate the implications of the introduction of the new X’Trapolis 2.0 (XT2) train on MTM’s Operational & Maintenance commercial arrangements and managing the successful negotiation of any necessary changes to the Franchise Agreement and downstream supplier agreements

This new role is offered on a
**24 month max-term position,** you will operate out of Metro Trains Head Office, Docklands.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work alongside MTM Commercial Management and Operational SME’s to support commercial discussions with the Department of Transport to implement an amendment to Metro’s MR4 franchise agreement for the operation and maintenance of the new XT2 train.
- Support Commercial, Procurement and Supply Chain colleagues to identify and Implement supply chain contracts for the maintenance of the XT2 train.
- Support the Program Manager in delivering the contractual & commercial requirements of the XT2 portfolio delivery.
- Provide leadership and advice on contractual and associated commercial matters pertaining to the introduction of the XT2 train fleet; Third party agreements, procurement agreements and contracts, contractual instruments entered into by Metro.
- Lead program interface with MTM legal, setting priorities for the legal team
- Responsible for XT2 maintenance forecast accuracy

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Tertiary Qualification in **Commerce / Business / Engineering or Accounting** CPA / CA highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in contracts / commercial management in a multi project environment.
- Computer-based management reporting systems.
- Commercial management and commercial acumen in a rail industry construction environment or a large construction project environment.
- Manage all aspects of the role independently and report on financial impacts, risks and issues
