**The Role & Responsibilities**
As Payroll Manager you will have full responsibility overseeing and continuously improving systems that ensure our payroll taxes and expenses are paid correctly and on time. You will keep up to date with all applicable laws and payroll tax obligations, communicate and implement any changes to the business ensuring full company compliance.
**Key responsibilities**
- Build, manage, develop and coach the payroll team, ensuring high performance and employee engagement.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of changes in applicable legislation and tax obligations, advising the business on how to implement any changes to ensure full compliance.
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades. - Manage Payroll System integrity.
- Accountable for the delivery of the Payroll & WFM system.
- Oversee the payroll processing process and work with accounting team for payroll journals posting
- Assisting in the budget and planning process
- Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits.
- Review and approve external reporting.
- Resolution of transactional challenges that arise.
- Support the implementation of ongoing system improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations, e.g., general award and retail award.
- Ensure internal controls and audit compliance maintained.
- Ongoing support and administration of the Payroll & WFM system
- Ensure key vendor relationships maintained; Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring FRESH Customer Service standards are maintained. Friendly, Responsive, Efficient, Safe and Hassle-Free.
- Maintain scheduling, internal reporting and KPI’s as per business requirements
- Oversee system administration including creation of new companies, departments, roles, pay policy and rules in the payroll system
**Skills Required**:
- Aligned with HFM values
- Proven experience as a payroll manager or similar role
- Experience in Payroll systems transformation
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
- Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
- Familiarity with payroll software and/or WFM software
- Can demonstrate good English comprehension
- MS Office (especially Excel) - A keen eye for detail
- An analytical mind and good mathematical ability
- Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
- Organizational and leadership skills
- Knowledge of GRIA/MIA/SSW advantageous
- Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce advantageous
