**Your new company**
This federal government branch manages Core programs that plays a key role in managing cyber strategy and capability. The program works with a range of KEY stakeholders for the purpose of gaining access to data that has been stored. The team’s work encompasses communications, operations, stakeholder engagement, policy, cyber strategy and capability. The team is currently seeking an experienced Senior Policy Officer to join this fast-paced challenging team for an initial estimated 6-12 month contract.

**Your new role**
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will bring your extensive experience to lead and manage high-profile projects that contribute to Australia's cyber security. You will work closely with key stakeholders to gain access to data, develop and drive policy that aligns with our organization's mission. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our team's communications, operations, stakeholder engagement, cyber strategy and capability.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To succeed in this role, you will be a high-performing individual with demonstrated professional experience working as a EL1 policy officer within the Australian Public Service. As well as this, you will have:

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A degree in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, policy, law, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of cyber strategy and capability, as well as related policy frameworks and legislation.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience in policy development and report writing.
- Experience in leading and managing a team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and international organizations.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify emerging trends and anticipate future risks and opportunities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
