**Competitive Salary**:Band 6 -** $96,221.61 to $104,985.30 p.a dependent on experience + 11% superannuation
**Location**:Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

**About the Role**:
Bayside City Council declared a Climate Emergency in December 2019 and is certified 'Carbon Neutral' in its operations. Council has set an ambitious target to reduce Bayside's community greenhouse gas emissions by 75% below 2005 levels by 2030, and achieve net-zero emissions by 2035, or earlier. This role will lead the delivery of the Climate Emergency Action Plan through Council's campaigns and community education initiatives.

We are looking for someone with highly valued interpersonal skills and proven delivery of community campaigns, that can facilitate and foster participation from all sectors of the Bayside community through engagement with businesses, community groups, schools, and residents.

You will be responsible for:

- Plan, develop and deliver climate and environmental sustainability education, behaviour change, engagement, promotional programs and support the delivery of advocacy initiatives.
- Representation, collaboration, networking and contract supervision.
- Report preparation and performance reporting.
- Budget preparation and monitoring expenditure.
- Leadership and supervision.

**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- Tertiary qualification (degree or equivalent) in environmental science, communications or related disciplines.
- Proven experience in the management of multi-function service units with supervisory responsibilities in local government or another multi-functional organisational environment.
- Experience in development and coordination of evidence based. environmental management and sustainability programs, using behaviour change principles.
- Excellent communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
- Excellent written skills, including the ability to write for different audiences.
- Experience in building productive partnerships and relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to identify priorities when juggling multiple projects.

**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:

- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
- Current Victorian Driver’s licence.
