Community Communications Officer

**Employment Status**: 12 months fixed term (with the potential to extend), Part-time
**Days & Hours of Work**:3 days (days flexible) totalling 22.8 hours per week
**Competitive Salary**: Band 5 - $78,462 pro rata. + 11 % superannuation
**Location**:Corporate Centre in Sandringham, with the flexibility to work from home

**About the Role**:
We’re excited to offer a new part-time and flexible job opportunity as a Community Communications Officer.

In this role, you’ll support the creation and implement of communication plans to keep our community informed and engaged about the Council projects and initiatives that matter to them. You’ll also support your colleagues by running a hub of community engagement resources.

From shaping strategies and masterplans to delivering sustainable, innovative, and inclusive infrastructure and services for our community, there’s plenty to inspire you as you help teams across the organisation share their stories.

**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- Exceptional communications skills in-person, in print and online
- A customer-centric approach to relationships
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritise
- Experience using a variety of communications platforms including social media, print, digital etc.
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related area preferred, alternatively relevant workplace experience.

**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:

- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
