Reporting to the Manager Climate, Waste and Integrated Transport, the Transport Planning Lead will develop and implement transport planning strategies to meet the needs of Council and the community, positively contributing to the sense of connection, health and wellbeing that already exists in the municipality, as well as a low carbon future to equally benefit the community and the environment. As the key lead role in transport planning, you will be responsible for encouraging and enabling the community to use more active and sustainable transport options, taking both a strategic and operational lens to ensure that what happens in planning is translated across to capital and program delivery. You will play a key engagement and advocacy role, connecting with Councillors and the community to ensure an integrated approach to transport planning across Bayside with outcomes that are in line with strategic and community objectives. To be successful in this role you will be an experienced strategic or transport planner, excited by the prospect of leading the development and delivery of sustainable transport policies and strategies. You are driven by improving accessibility, sustainability, safety, resilience and inclusion through your work. With a tertiary qualification in transport planning, town planning, or other relevant discipline, you will have extensive experience in developing strategies, plans, policies and programs for transport planning. You enjoy the challenge of community engagement and consultation, and are committed to designing and promoting a sustainable future for the Bayside community.
