**Who we are**
Financial Operations Branch provides shared services for the department, including corporate services such as travel, credit cards, procurement, grants policy, advice and reporting, payroll services, procurement, accounts receivable, debt management and accounts payable. The branch also provides a project management and oversight role for some of the critical projects for the division.

**The Job**
Duties will include:

- Provide leadership and support to the Accounts Payable (AP) team in the delivery of high-quality service and outcomes processing and validating invoices, credits and maintaining vendor records.
- Mentor and develop members of the AP team, championing career pathways within the Division/Branch.
- Monitor workflow and provide support to Senior AP officers to meet changing demands and priorities.
- Generate, collate and analyse data in readiness for regular reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Conduct period-end reconciliations (month and year end) financial processes.
- Actively identify and encourage innovation and building capability in your team, seeking alignment and synergy with related line areas and more broadly through the organisation.
- Providing high-level financial management support and advice to range of stakeholders.
- Assessing and evaluating financial management strategy, initiatives, projects, policy and procedures and identify innovation and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Managing financial governance requirements and compliance with the financial management framework.

**Knowledge and experience**
Competencies we are targeting include:

- Experience in providing high-level financial support and advice.
- Experience in managing financial governance requirements and compliance with the financial management framework.
- Experience in an Accounts Payable environment, with understanding of functions and timelines and PGPA act.
- Experience in general Interest Charge (GIC) policy and requirements.
- Managing a team of client focussed, solution driven staff who have clarity on their roles, responsibilities, expected values and behaviours.
