Hays Recruitment are delighted to once again be partnering with a national leader in providing Rail infrastructure services to clients around Victoria. Providing a range of services from Project Management, construction, and Design, this highly driven and customer centric business is looking for an experienced Purchasing and Logistics Officer to join their team.

Your new role

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

- Purchasing of equipment, supplies, and various materials in line with the company’s quality management system.
- Management and control of inventory and distribution
- Processing of orders from suppliers
- Preparation and updating of vehicle fleet inventory including maintenance schedules
- Price negotiation whilst managing the existing supplier database
- Liaising with Line Managers to determine the best strategy for purchasing and other requirements
- Reporting inventory levels monthly

What you’ll need to succeed
- A proven track record in purchasing and logistics oversight, preferably in the construction or infrastructure space
- A background in receivables and inventory control
- A demonstrated ability to be analytical whilst proactively solving any problems
- Commercial acumen with a focus on logístical operations
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Sound computer literacy with experience using ERP systems
- A proactive and positive attitude with a focus on high performance
