This is an opportunity to partner with a national contract manufacturer within the packaging sector. On site in their south-east manufacturing and distribution site, they work alongside a number of Global FMCG brands and retailers and provide a diverse range of solutions and products.
With a strong commitment to environmental impact, innovation, and growth the business is on the lookout for a standout purchasing officer to join them permanent, full time.
**THE ROLE**:
Reporting to the Group Sourcing manager you will be highly motivated to achieve excellent supply chain standards and KPI’s and have a hands on, communicative personality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership of the monitoring of stock levels to actively identify purchasing needs through relevant SAP reports, cycle meetings, customer requirements and NPD initiatives.
- All on-site purchasing of raw materials from local and international suppliers as well as coordinating services and some in-directs for the site
- Commitment to continuous improvement within the purchasing function, identifying and implementing areas for improvement
**ABOUT YOU**:
You will have previous purchasing experience, ideally with exposure to high volume raw materials within a manufacturing facility.
Additional skills required include.
- Competent usage of SAP, as well as complementary skills across the MS Office suite
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal, you can adjust your communication style to the stakeholder you are engaging with.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a function through accurate prioritisation, attention to detail, a curious mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualifications within the Supply Chain sector (or experience to supersede this)
