Based in the Illawarra, Ventia’s ‘NSW Industrial’ business group provides a range of contract maintenance and miscellaneous services work for a variety of Clients.
Working within our longstanding BlueScope Plant Maintenance Contract, an opportunity exists for a tradesperson to join Ventia and the Coke Plant 1 Team as a **Project Coordinator - Mechanical Fitter.**
**About The Role**:
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Project Coordinator - Mechanical Fitter supports the Project Team with the scheduling, planning, coordination, execution, and hand over of project work, with the goal of delivering projects on time and within safety, quality, and cost requirements. Drawing from your trade and/or engineering background, you will also provide technical and safety expertise, recommendations, and advice on how to best execute the project work.
Key accountabilities of the position include:
- Contribute to the overall asset strategy of equipment in area of responsibility.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders (trades, operations and contractors) in order to plan and execute project work.
- Prepare project task documentation, and detail planning, that enables the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of project tasks.
- Create work detail documents (work orders), that include associated drawings, manuals and / or prints.
- Ensure that all safety requirements are captured and planned into the process for the work order.
- Schedule the execution of project work within the SAP system.
- Ensure key spares and components are fit for purpose for the project work and available when required.
- Take accountability and responsibility for the project work task execution as the ‘Work Owner’ and/or ‘Person in Charge’.
- Provide direction, technical guidance, and support in relevant discipline to other team members / service providers to complete project tasks.
- Support the multi-discipline teams with ‘hands on’ work activities.
- Monitor and report the condition of assets.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role the following qualification, licences, skills and experience is required:
- Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
- Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical or Fabrication Trade Qualification), or Engineering Degree
- Relevant industry experience with solid mechanical aptitude
- NSW Drivers Licence
- OHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
