**The team**
Financial Risk Specialist Teams are APRA’s centre of excellence for financial risk and are set within the Cross-industry Risk Division. The Cross-Industry Risk Division houses all APRA risk specialist teams, bringing together a financial system wide perspective and assessing priority areas for APRA’s prudential response across all APRA’s regulated industries. Further, the division provides advice and works with frontline supervisors to enable them to fulfil their supervisory function.

- Set strategic direction and business plan of the Credit Risk team, consistent with the APRA Corporate Plan;
- Monitor, assess the credit risk environment across the Australian financial system for relevant prudential vulnerabilities and, and where appropriate, recommending an APRA balanced but proactive response;
- Working with other Cross-Industry Risk Division specialists to provide a cohesive prudential risk view across all risk classes for Australia’s financial system;
- Provide specialist technical advice on credit risk related matters, ensuring the team maintains a deep level of expertise in retail, non-retail credit risk and current and emerging issues in credit risk management more broadly, both domestically and internationally;
- Oversee the development of credit risk system-wide and relevant entity insights;
- Provide specialist input into APRA’s prudential policy, data collections and reporting in relation to credit risk;
- Contribute to branch and divisional leadership activities, priorities workflow and manage resources accordingly; and
- Model inclusive leadership behaviours and instilling an open culture where divergent views are shared and respected.
**About you**
- Deep knowledge, understanding and experience in the field of credit risk;
- Demonstrable expertise across people, project, and resource management.
- Solid strategic leadership capabilities, relationship building, negotiation and influencing capability at senior level;
- A demonstrated ability to identify strategic credit risk issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions;
- Strong personal integrity and an intuitive understanding of what is reasonable and prudent business practice.
- Ability to establish and maintain sound working relationships with peers, team members and external stakeholders in a professional team environment; and
- Professional qualifications in relevant field or equivalent experience;
