Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine haematology and coagulation testing in compliance with laboratory protocols and industry standards.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain haematology analyzers and other laboratory equipment.
- Conduct quality control procedures and troubleshoot technical issues as required.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of test results.
- Maintain compliance with NATA/ISO accreditation requirements and internal quality standards.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and infection control protocols.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and students as required.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage stock levels and laboratory supplies to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
- Experience in a haematology laboratory setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of haematology testing methodologies and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and data entry procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
