Canberra, Australia Australian National University Full time

**Classification**: ANU Officer Grade 6/7
**Salary package**:$84,019 - $96,713 per annum plus 17% Superannuation
**Term**: Full-time, Fixed Term (up to 2 years, part-time also considered)

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative project being conducted as part of a large national investment to build digital infrastructure for the Humanities and Social Sciences. The research data officer will work on the Language Data Commons of Australia (LDaCA), which is developing digital infrastructure to federate language collections that exist across Australia, make them more readily findable and accessible, and ensure their long-term preservation. LDaCA is working with collections across different languages. A major focus for the ANU LDaCA team will be around Australian English data, but we may also be working with Australian migrant languages, Australian Indigenous languages, and languages of the region. LDaCA is led through the University of Queensland, and is being developed in collaboration with the NCRIS-funded Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and other key national partner institutions (University of Melbourne, Monash University, University of Sydney, First Languages Australia and AARnet).

The purpose of this position is to provide support for the development, implementation, maintenance and uptake of LDaCA. It involves contributing technical expertise towards the development of the digital platform and the effective management and use of language research data, as well as promoting the infrastructure through creating and offering training in its use. The work will take place individually and in teams, and will require liaising with a wide variety of collaborators and stakeholders.

Based in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, the appointee will form part of the local LDaCA team at ANU, and interact with LDaCA members and stakeholders nationwide. They will be supervised by Professor Catherine Travis, and will work closely with staff across ANU in the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) and the College of Asia and Pacific (CAP), in particular, in languages and linguistics, digital humanities, and other ANU initiatives for the development and enhancement of digital infrastructure. They will be expected to liaise broadly with academic and professional colleagues across the School, College, wider University community and external stakeholders.
